Account Inactivity Notices Now More Frequent

Previously, DHS/E-Verify would contact you directly if your E-Verify account has not been accessed for two years. A client recently forwarded the “E-Verify Notification of Account Non-use after 90 Days” email that they received approximately six months after enrolling in E-Verify via our agency (text of email below).

The goal of the email is not to chastise you about not using E-Verify, but to remove from the system accounts that are no longer needed or in which contact info has not been kept up to date.

Our clients who do not hire on a regular basis should expect to receive this email more frequently; unfortunately, maybe as often as three times a year!

Your response to the email remains the same — contact us. We will “refresh” your account which, for clients who do not hire, will buy you at least another 90 days. You should use the contact form to make refreshing your account as easy as possible.

Don’t ignore the email, as doing so could result in the deactivation or deletion of your account.

Dear E-Verify Participant:

Thank you for registering to use E-Verify.

Since enrolling in E-Verify you have not verified any new hires. After completing the Form I-9, E-Verify employers must create an E-Verify case no later than the third business day after the employee starts work for pay. Employers are required to complete and retain a Form I-9 for each employee they hire.

What you should do next:

• Login to your E-Verify account and complete any outstanding tutorials. After completion, begin creating cases in E-Verify for all employees hired after your Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) date, located at the top of the email.

• Continue creating cases in E-Verify for newly hired employees.

There is no need to contact us if you can address this issue with the guidance provided above. If you have additional questions, you may reply to this e-mail and provide us with any questions that you may have and we will reply promptly to your inquiry. Please provide your name, email address and phone number in your response telling us the best manner to contact you.

You can find additional E-Verify information, including user manuals, webinars and Frequently Asked Questions and Answers, on the E-Verify website: https://www.e-verify.gov

Thank you for promptly addressing this issue. We value your partnership in preventing misuse of the E-Verify system.

Sincerely,
E-Verify
